Not sure if this has been discussed previously, but regardless....Anyone seen one of these? Just imagine the torque!

What a beauty!

As stated, "The 928 may have been the first eight-cylinder Porsche production car, but it wasn't the first time Porsche engineers stuffed eight pistons in a road car. Porsche built two 914/8s equipped with the 3.0-liter flat-eight from the 908 race car. The 914/8s, which were owned by Ferdinand Piech and Ferry Porsche, were more intended as development cars and were by some accounts, incredibly unrefined. The engine in Piech's car (pictured) was mostly unchanged from the 908, making his 914/8 quite a handful on the street."

It's the internet, where if you don't know something someone is always happy to point it out.

Even if you do know something, someone else will say you are wrong.

I agree,a 914-V8 should have a nice Porsche engine,and turbos,yes turbos,two of them.
The flat crank Rufs engine has some great attributes, real snappy response.
I really liked what 928 International was doing with the strokers they were building.
An alternative Caddy Northstar is as close as the north american industry has been.
I'm sure the price of these engines in a state of 'high tunage' far exceeds that of the ubiquitous LS.
A scored latemodel V8 Porsche/Caddy engine may be a decent economy if you can do the work yourself.

This is very cool!! Thanks for posting. What a great way to see Laguna Seca, from the drivers point of view! I always wanted to drive that track...now I have!~

Back in the 1970's & 1980's I had spent many race weekends at the Corkscrew and back straights, during Camel GT's and SCCA races, with my camera snapping some good pics....I'll have to post some one day.
