A fellow member over on the ESR has a 30 year old NOS, Porsche logo, Sigla windshield that's "Made in West Germany".

Any opinions as to value?

Cal,

I'm not sure than anyone needs to be that CW anal for any PCA Zone or national Parade Concours, nor AACA etc. from what my fellow judges over there say.

If it's a price up from the new ones from the Dealer, then IMHO it's only worth putting on a very high end & mostly all original or high end resto of a factory 914-6.

It may make a difference to get a NOS one - IF it's tinted - only if the dealers aren't selling the tinted ones now, & a particular 914=6 or /4 has tinted glass all around or tinted windshield (IIRC aka: heat tempered/resistant in the German to English transliteration in the 914 PET parts manual), for a correct resto or preservation.

The Porsche warehouse )Atlanta) still has them.

I got a quote last week of $564 shipped to Albuquerque and then $22.50 to ship to Durango. Parts guy said it would take about 2 weeks.

I bought one 4 years ago (same deal) and that one does say Sigla.

I had the windshield replace on my teener back at Bob Smith P/A in Hollywood in 1975. I don't remember seeing made in West Germany. I do remember seeing Sigla on it. I guess I can check when I'm in the garage.

West Germany has been gone for some time. I'd venture a guess that all the stock prior was consumed, but who knows. I got it for my 70 project
