Current tires are holding up great

But fact of the matter is they are old as hell .

Right now i have nitto touring out front

And continental pro touring in the back

Both are 195-60-15 and rears clear the fender by

About a fingertip so i think i should stay this size

Car is stock 2.0 fuch 4 bolt wheels

Im willing to spend top dollar since i like having nice tires
And they tend to last a long time on a 914

Dont drive in the rain im good with touring tires or full summer tires but great grip is top priority

After all its a 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif)

the best tires for a 914 are studded slicks, all weather radials with muffler oil

These days, the best tires are the ones that are still available in your desired size. You might also consider 195/65-15 as an alternative if the selection is better and you're looking for a touring tire.

I've been running Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S 205/65/15 on my original steel 5.5" rims for several years with great satisfaction. They do rub a bit in the inside front if I turn to lock limits. According to the tire calculators I found, they are the exact same rolling diameter as the 165/15 originals, so odometer and speedometer are more or less accurate.

Max stick. They don't make sticky tires that last a long time. These were OE on the Lotus Elise/Exige sport pack cars.

Another racing tire in a more period correct look is the AVON CR6ZZ 185-70-15. Open the pdf to view specs.

All the sticky tires are 205/50-15. Good luck finding a decent sports car tire in econo car tire size....
Even a 205/60 is spec'd for a daily beater these days.

If you want to stay close to that size and close to period look, Michelin TRX 190/65 Coker Tire has them for the price of a decent parts car.

I have 195/65x15 Michelin Exaltos on my -6, and am happy with them. Like others, I'd recommend to see what is still available in your desired size. I have the same issue with my 911 and 914-6Gt clone as the selection of 15" tires keeps getting smaller and smaller.

Is it really that hard to get 15" tires in the US?

A quick look at a big supplier over here gets 63 results in 205/50-15 size.
If those there are maybe 10 or 15 brands I would use but still not hard to find.
