I get e-mail notifications of auctions for liquidating assets of companies that are closing their doors. Usually it's for busted dot coms and biotech companies, but this time it's for a "machine shop & high performance engine facility."

Generally, at this type of auction, the good hand/air tools have left the building and all that is left is what is broken, worn out or made in Taiwan/China.

Caldwell Development did the work on the Lemans Dodge Vipers; they are (were) a pretty reputable place. A bunch of guys in the Viper club are currently snapping up their spares inventory; a lot of it is ending up on ebay as well. The story behind the shutdown is that the owner of the place (Mr. Caldwell) is retiring.
