I have Swepco 201 in tranny but with seep in rear main seals need to top it off.
With cost of Swepco as only available (to me) in gallons, thinking of topping off with some other gear oil in quart bottle.
Ok to use an 80W-90 oil rated at GL5 (differential) and GL-4 (non-sync manual trans)?
I’m skeptical.

I don’t race or drive hard. Mostly around town and event cruises.

Any GL5 will work fine.

Dr Evil seems to like the cheaper stuff (Stay lube I believe).

I wouldn't waste money on top off oil.
I'd get the cheapest non-synthetic that your flaps has for top up.

The bottle in the picture is FINE!

Another option - Liquid Moly GL-5?
I like the pour top on the Valvoline bottle - easy for top off when car not on a lift (which I don't have).

The newest packaging is soft bags with a tapered plastic tip.

At first, I didn't like them but for under the car work, on your back, on a creeper, they work great!

+1, I have been using Sta Lube for a couple years. Top off with some of their GL 5 and refill with it when time for a change

Ya’ all realize that if it weren’t for mixing things, mankind would have never invented the Tequilla Sunrise . . . Right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
