Hey all,
My recently (1 year) acquired 914 2056 has headers that terminate into a single pipe. Im finding most mufflers are 2 in 1 out. I bought a Magnaflow, of the same size as was on the car, but not happy with the sound. Looking for more of a lower growl than a raspy bite. I've been on the Flowmaster site but it doesn't list anything for Porsche. Anyone found a reasonably priced option for this configuration? Thanks, Tony Yes, formally Elliot's car. |

I haven’t heard it start yet so not sure about the sound, but I found a borla exhaust can that fits perfectly up into the exhaust area. You will have to build your exhaust if that is something that is in your wheelhouse. If not shouldn’t be too much for someone to do it for you. It’s a very short run. I ordered everything off of Amazon for around 300bucks. Took one day to build, one day to polish it all out.

I have the same set up with MSDS headers. My Spintech muffler is too loud for me. Id love to see how the Borla works out for you. Im considering getting the Tangerine EVO II Silencer.

I have a 2270 bid 4 with a MSDS 4 in 1 header. I installed a 1 in 1 out M & K 911 Carrera muffler. It has the same 3 bolt triangle flange. Great sound.

Can you share a pic of your setup and a link to the muffler? Thanks,

That’s a nice clean set up!
I bet it does sound good, they tune those 911 cans to flow nicely. I looked at those Tangerine eco systems and they are top notch. I just didn’t want to spend that coin on something I knew I could build myself, and I also wanted something different. I wanted a center mounted exit from under the ground effects. I Put a Borla exhaust on my Jeep last year, and I love the sound that it creates now. Hoping for that same stored energy low tone vibe in the 914. My car decided to share another story with me as I was refinishing the bumpers. I bought a set of those 914 rubber driving light grilles, and adding driving lights to the car. After pulling the front one off, I noticed some bondo work. I can’t leave anything alone with my curios nature, so grinding away I went. Glad I did, it was really starting to corrode and rust under all that unnecessary filler. I can’t wait to hear it run, but I want to finish up the car and then start it, so I can go directly to the fun! |

Chad. The Borla looks slick and doesn’t break the bank. I’m limiting what I spend on Willie as I haven’t fallen in love yet. 1 AX under his belt and he’ll need new tires to make him competitive. Having a dedicated AX car was the reason for the purchase. Found this exhaust on line: https://paradoxmuffler.com/signature-series...rmance-muffler/
Sound clips sound like what I’m looking for, it’s made in the US, it’s stainless, doesn’t cost a lot and it will be invisible from the rear of the car. Once it’s installed, I’ll post a sound clip Thanks for all the suggestions, Tony |

Great price and hydroformed which must save a lot of fabrication time. Please post sound clip. I wonder about the life of the glass pack and restriction.
