Try a smaller non union or regional LTL carriers or a non asset based company like Pilot air. Roadway and Yellow are the same company now and charge the highest rate in the industry.

Set it up as a station delivery and pickup as well. LTL carriers will kill you with local delivery charges if its going to a residential address. Also if you can conslidate everything onto just one pallet you'd get a better rate.

Try Pilot Air's economy service they might have a real cheap rate:

Or you could give a broker a shot:

If you dont have any luck PM and I'll help you find something for 1/3 that price! You shouldnt be paying anymore than .50-.75 cents a lb if you palletize correctly.

As Mark said Greyhound....stack the seats on top of themselfs. Space them with cardboard. You might find a water heater box at your local plumbing store. It will fit the seats & dash pads. Wrap the backpad and door panels together. Then wrap in carboard. Use boxes. Flaten them out. Free from the local grocery store.

To ship a rear window (oversized) from ND to CA was $180 from UPS, $150 from USPS and $40 from Greyhound. I shipped a front hood from ND to TN $30

I'm guessing two boxes (one with seats, pads, ect.) and a flat one with backpad & panels would be under $150 by Greyhound.

fedex is better than their website indicates... Tom Perso sent me an engine on a pallet with a heavy-ass box for around $400 last year... michigan to TX... tom used the pricing a cheap, fly-by-night carrier quoted him as leverage as I recall..

but yeah, SLITS AKA ron sent me a 1.7 engine with harness and brain for $150 shipping.....

company is gud tho

I had a rear clip for a Speedster shipped from Col. to Va. last year by Fex Ex freight for $650.00. Interior shouldn't be anywhere near that much.

ZOIKS!!! how much of the interior are you shipping? the center portion of the tub? the backpad will break down into 3 sections that "should" be under the maximum to avoid oversize shipping. don't ship it flat in 1 piece. see if there is a "main" fedex shipment center nearby. avoid the small Mailbox type stores, they tack on a hidden fee. before you box things up check for the maximum size allowable before you hit the oversize rate. i don't remember off hand. 104" or 108", figured by adding girth+height. measure the EXACT size and stay under the magic number before you ship, even if it's 1/2", don't let the person behind the counter, who can't read a tape measure, round up. 2 seats packaged correctly should be under $70(iirc), a backpad under under $40, door panels under $20. your best best is to include them in one of the other boxes. ex...4 mags, packed individually, in wheel boxes sourced from Discount Tire went for $17.35 each, from tacoma wa to maryland, fedex. for shipping smaller items the USPS can't be beat. the first # goes for $3.85, priority mail.

Greetings:

Here is my $ 0.02 worth and recent experience !!!

I shipped a Crated / Skid with a 2 liter engine from Toronto to New Jersey about 4ft. x 4ft. x 2.5 ft. 350 lbs and PAID for $ 110

I purchased and had shipped a 915 tranny from Florida to Toronto again shipped on a skid and PAID $ 75.

Try FORWARD AIR .com they are a trucking company with major centers across the USA and a depot in Toronto;
very reasonable and delivery is usually 3 - 5 days. Just make sure you get a confirmed price from them (since I had an extra
"warehouse min. fee assessed in Toronto of $50 but paid it to avoid hassle or no time to fight with them)

Otherwise they are very good and I recommend calling them. Good Luck

Allan
