I have in my posession a 914 who's original color was Lagoon (Laguna in some circles) Blue. Whatever the name, the paint code is L50C. I can't seem to find any good pics of cars with this color and I've checked both of the 914 paint code sites.

I'm considering a color change and can't make my mind up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Thanks
Rick

If you do a color change Aconda (?) blue is my favorite. Robby750's car is that color.

If I do a color change, I'm going black. I (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) black 914's. I'm trying to figure out if the original blue will look ok as I'm somewhat partial to it anyway.

I have a Laguna/Lagoon Blue car. I can send you some pics over the weekend. I really like the color, and you don't see too many like it. That's my car on one of the websites, but the color is actually deeper than the photo shows.

Yep. I hadn't realized the color on the sites was off until I had a L50C car in my garage. That's when I realized I needed help picturing the whole car. Mine was repainted a lighter color of blue so looking at my own car doesn't help much. Fenders for my car are in various colors right now anyway.

I would love some pics. Post to this thread or send me a PM when you are ready to send them.

Thanks Chris. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Sure no problem. I'll just post them here. Nice to find a fellow Laguna/Lagoon blue 914'er! It was a 75-76 color and I've only seen one other, which was the one in the pics from one of the Fun Runs. It had Mahles on it.

Never seen a color that has two names like this one either. Some literature says Laguna (Like my owners manual), some says Lagoon (like the color chart). It's kind of a love/hate color, so you will be able to decide pretty quick if it's for you or not.

You're going to love this then. It was also an available color on the '75 Euro Scirocco. It's referred to as Lagoon Blue on the English speaking German web sites. They had a few Scirocco's on one of the Euro sites but it didn't help me picture my 914. :-)

Color codes, no. Except that the entire list has the Porsche and xx10 codes as well. Attach to the list is the years of application. What might be missing are more color descriptions. If one has the touchup tubes, there are often multiple descriptions on it. Most often for multiple languages. Jeroen can get the entire list if he wants to post it in the info section.

Cool list Dave. Thanks for posting it. "Pasture Green" and "Blood Orange" are my favorites so far. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hey Rick, I think we had a Dasher (yes, we had a Dasher OK? I said it!) that was close to Laguna Blue.

We'll have to get the list up in the info section.

Warning, do not trust the colors you see on your monitor unless it is color calibrated. It is a fact of life that any color input (digital photo, scanned photo, computer creation) will not look the same on the screen or color printer. Peolpe who do have to have color calibrated systems have to pay big bux to get it done properly, and it probably requires constant maintenance.

Hard to believe those five names represent only two colors. It amazes me sometimes the things VW/Porsche/Audi have done in the past that just adds to the confusion.

Good point, I've never "calibrated" my monitor for the proper heat ranges. Probably won't either.

That would be mine. The color is actually a few shades darker and a bit richer than that. It was very sunny that day and the camera sucked. I'll put up some better ones.

That seems about right. The original paint portions of my car are a few shades darker as well. Oh, cool car BTW.

My ex calls that color "baby blue".

Man, I am glad we never had kids!
