I am in the process go getting shipping prices to send a 49 lb seat in a 31x31x24 box to Long Beach , CA. UPS and Fed-EX want to charge me $142+ for shipping. I have an account with both. The box is LARGE according to them and they charge for 140 lbs not the actual weight. I guess if you cannot throw the package around, your going to pay. These bastards have you assuming the position. I did call Forward Air and got a quote of $81 which is more reasonable.

Not an option at this point. They are almost as bad as the Post Office on damage.

I bought a seat off ebay a few years back, instead of a "box" he wrapped it in packing material and cardboard, making it look like an "L" shaped box... may not work for anything bigger than a stock 914 seat, but it was under 40 to ship IIRC
