I hope this works -- here is a little 25 second sound clip of my new 2.7 beast during a little Mulholland ride, from inside the car using my iPhone. (The iPhone 3GS voice recorder is surprisingly good!).
This is with a Dansk 2-in/2-out sport muffler. By FAR most of the 'noise' is from the Webers. The exhaust is not all that loud, even from outside the car, relatively speaking. A friggen sizable buck (deer) jumped out in front of me at one point during today's drive. A bit later a coyote also ran across the road. I need to remember not to go out on these drives at twilight. That deer certainly could've ruined my day, and my car. Attached File(s) 2_7_with_Dansk_20091018_Clip_A.mp3 ( 268.12k ) Number of downloads: 507 |

The crazy thing is the engine will rev and make power approx. another 1500 rpm's. The rev limiter is only set at 6000 right now and I'm not sure I was even pegging that.
I'm in love. |

I don't care where the sound is coming from, Webers or exhaust...either way, it sure is purty!

I'm in love. Just wait until your first 2000+ mile roadtrip ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Nothing some good earplugs can't fix. Let's just hope your girlfriend is as good at entertaining herself as mine is. Because there won't be much quality time spent on conversation. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Andy |

Yes; a fresh 2.7 hotrod. A lot of time and care went into this engine, and I bought it still crated, with dyno time only, in somewhat of a distress sale when the owner had to abandon an early 911 project it was going into.
I started a build thread on the "other board" with more info and pics of the latest round of work on this car (no offense to anyone here, it was a pretty random decision to park it there vs. here). There are some pics on Flickr as well here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjcam/sets/72157622352557000/ |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Andy LOL, no road-trips or spouse ridealongs in this car. It's way too far over the edge for that. My wife did kinda like the mostly-stock Ravenna 73 2.0 I used to have, but other than that, she gravitates towards SUV's and away from my Porsches. |

No worries. What exhaust are you running on it? Dammit that sounds cool as hell. I can't stop listening to it. Edit: Nevermind. Learned to read... |

I am going to put an M&K "R" type muffler on it in a couple weeks. It's lighter and I suspect will sound even better. Traveling right now.
