...I set out late thursday pulling the backing plates from the shelves in my garage.
I found three, but the fourth is eluding me, hiding in some dark unknown place.
I have for two days now torn into every box, every storage place and found
things I didn't know I still had, things I thought I got rid of and still have, but no
backing plate. I am now diverted on the clean-up and re-cataloging my piece parts.
I think that I will stand in the middle of my garage and announce, loudly, "I'm not
looking for the backing plates, I'm searching for my....ugh, yeah that's it, my relay boards!"
and proceed to go through everything, pretending
to locate them, so that I can find the damn backing plate that is missing.
At least my garage is going through its' annual cleaning.

Things I have found, that I forgot that I had:

2.4 timing chains (new)
Hydraulic tensioners update Kit with hoses (new)
1.8 cylinders with pistons (new)
1.8 heads (used)
DRLA Weber rebuild kits (new, still in packaging)
Stock (914 and 911) brake pads (new)

[b]BUT NOT THE G**D**N MISSING BACKING PLATE!
[b]the search continues......

oh, I forgot that I found the original black vinyl cover for
the 914 spare that has a tool bag pocket built in. (cool)
