PET figure 902-00 #1/1 cover for battery
I believe this part was superceded in a recall related to battery acid encountering fuel lines

Yes it was superseded in the HO Recall by a part which was a full rectangle to cover the entire battery & posts, although in practice the dealers would use Audi parts, etc. if at hand & easy to grab.

BTW - if you go to Jeff Bowlsby's classic 914 website & to its recalls pages, you can download the actual recall letters & instructions from VoA to the dealers, & it shows the parts I think. All of the other recalls are there too for the various years & models & parts.
