So yesterday I pulled my LE project out and started to clean it up a bit (remove spare parts, vacuum a bunch of crap out of it, etc) and I found quite a few trademarks of the previous owner.

WARNING: Sarcasm included

I was cleaning out the rear trunk and I found a jagged hole. It appears they let a small bear change the starter at some point.

Seems like a trustworthy repair... NOT

I apologize for the blurriness of this next picture. There was a single screw into the engine bay firewall which had a steel rope attached to it. Who knows what this was for.

I'm still trying to figure out why they would put a 4-prong trailer connection in-line of what appears to be the fuel sender.

Blue wire casing. I bet it matched the wing.

They loved the aluminum sheet metal and pop rivets.

They used some sort of sealant in the rear trunk... which was stoopid!

Attached Image

They attacked the rear with something.

They installed a rear trunk battery box OVER the rubber insulation mat using WOOD screws.

They used some odd-shaped steel dohickeys to shim the rear trailing arm.

This next repair was actually pretty innovative. The accelerator cable broke so they used a nail to fix it. That's southern Engineering for ya.

And last but not least this is my favorite! Classy... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

I've seen plenty of stupid things before but this is just tragic. Luckily the car will eventually get a full restoration and be repaired back to the way it should be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

Another reason PIMPs should not own Porshce, any kind of Porsche.

At least it will get the love it deserves now.

I don't think so. I bought this car from a guy in Madison, NC who let it sit in his backyard for 10-15 years. He was going to use it for parts but never got around to it, luckily.

Actually.... Thats not a half bad idea. It allows you to pull the gas tank without taking it apart first to unhook the wiring. The way they have the sender wired from the factory is kinda retarded.

On my car, they just cut the wire and then taped it back together... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) At least your DAPO was better then mine in that respect.

The nail to the go-pedal cable is a classic "it'l get ya home" fix. Course, then they forgot to fix the fix.

Actually, those are shims. Just not the correct ones for a 914.

Hm, interesting. That would explain why its there but a trailer connection is certainly not the answer. Everything on this car was half done whether it was a repair or a modification. Gotta love DAPOs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)
