Thought I would share these with you guys. At first I was a bit skeptical, but I thought they turned out pretty good. I had a customer who is building a 550 spyder replica with a suby powerplant. He wanted modern internals with the 550 theme. he had a set of 914 gauges, so we made them into these:
(IMG:http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/32212/2994080550057582025S600x600Q85.jpg)
We went with the quad gauge to monitor everything even though the 550 did not have it, just wanted to capture the feel of the car, the rest is pretty much 550 just tweaked to fit the car.
The polished bezels and pointers really finish the set off well.
I knew that they would be nice, but I was really suprised how they all look together in a 914 housing.

There was a Stoddard upgrade to a 914-6 in PCA's Panorama in the early 70s. Had the early 911 gauges.

I think the article is posted at RoadGlue.

Thanks for the compliments.
At least now we have the patterns and colors mastered, so duplicating them is a snap.

This set was about $700.00. But that included the pre-wired quad gauge, senders, new VDO internals for the tach and a rebuilt speedometer chrome trim rings, so those extras added a few hundred quick.
