That's it for now . . . I can't change the other pdf's to jpg's and keep them readable. Maybe it's cuz I'm trying to learn mac after 15+ years on a pc?

FWIW the article is "Dell' Power" for the May 83 issue of Hot VWs (Bobhasissues, send me a PM if you would like it as an e-mail)

Hope this helps!

Best,

Steve A-

No need to email. I printed these and can read them sufficiently. Thank you so much. Now its just an issue of having a replacement oring if needed. I have read that they decay and may need replaced. I'd hate to find myself really stuck. At least the car runs right now. On the highway it runs really strong until i lift then I get one or two pops and resumes cruising.

I"m sure you know that Claude's Buggies is now CB Performance, and they should have any parts you need. Their Dellorto book is probably the most complete and best reference around (http://cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=2), and at only twelve bucks or so a deal at twice the price.

Also John Connolly at www.aircooled.net is an excellent resource, check out the "tech reference" part of his website for some 'how to sync dual carburetors' instructions and other tech articles that are pretty evolved and user tested for understandability. John uses what he sells and is also good with his neighbor Art Thraen of ACE, the ultimate Dellorto specialist. Art has repeatedly salvaged carbs with frozen throttle shafts that I would have otherwise tossed, and might be able to dredge up parts that you otherwise wouldn't be able to find.
