That rotation is interesting. I don't know if they actually switched directions or if it's a result of the RPM's outdoing the FPS of the video.

An education on resonance modes.
You can see the spring coils go through a series of resonance modes as the engine is accelerating- (coil gaps changing) And the system goes through resonance modes as shown by the changing rotation of the spring and retainer. A variable strobe light would have shown more. |
