I came across only 3 of these BBS 16 inch by 8" wheels. they are 3 pc construction and feel fairly light. They look like good wheels but I only have 3. I am figuring out if I should sell or keep...what are they worth? Does anyone have a single wheel to complete my quartet? got any groovy trivia I should know about these?

WTF?

I was told some time ago that those BBS 34-bolt RS wheels were made
for street cars, and weren't meant to be taken apart to adjust offset/back
spacing. Mesh design for brake cooling and styled to look like race rims,
but don't take my word for it. I like 20-bolt E50's.

there are 17/16 inch lips available in all sorts of back spacing for the RS
i love the look of a e50, in fact much prefer it but the design of the RS spokes lend themselves to a stronger wheel,
here are some horny looking 15inch e50s fresh from the rebuilders
(not mine)

if you take them apart dont loose the bolts. they are some weird bolt that nearly impossible to find. and when you do find them they are like $8 each.

It is specified. Shows it even at the bottom when you load pics.

I see a lot of those wheels on BMW's around here.

If I remember correctly these sometimes called Mahle BBS RS wheels. Mostly found on German cars ( 5x110? bmw/ 5x112 mercedes, etc.) I believe you can sometimes redrill the boltpattern, but not sure. I think different years have a different design wheel-lip. Some are smooth, some have more of an edge.
Price? Set of 4 in good condition goes for anything between 550 and 1200euro over here.

yeah that may be stated in a seperate post but where you actually add the pic is says "unlimited" why not change that phrase next to the add attachment to say " limit 500k" instead of "unlimited"?

Because that message is for the global size limit, not the per post size limit.

Sean,

I have one (only) of those wheels in 16x7 et23 that I would like to get out of my garage. The outer lip is damaged but likely repairable. RGOFAST on the BirdBoard has some parts available:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911...halves-etc.html

Cheers,

Eddie
