This kit will significantly stiffen the 914 chassis by tying the two longitude panels and the firewall together to "BOX" the frame. If you are upgrading your 914 to a six cylinder, doing autocross, or if you simply want to stiffen the whole chassis up, this kit is for you. $230 Shipping included in the cont. US otherwise shipping is on buyer, will ship internationally but email me first. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is this the "Engman" kit or some other? I am restoring my first teener, and it was apart when I bought it. I have never driven one and don't know if it's necessary for street use. The car is apart so install would be simple, but I'm spending way more than planned, so not sure if I need it.

This appears to be an "Engman kit" replica. The price point is good from that perspective.

Thanks for the interest. This is not an "Engman" kit, but is similar. It was designed by myself, with a lot of input from Brad Roberts. I design and fabricate all the parts that I sell. The parts are laser cut from 16 ga.(.060") steel then brake formed and are ready to be welded on. Let me know if you have any other questions, please visit my website www.maddogsmotorsports.com

Slightly unrelated but HEY, do you own a 2nd Gen F-Body and a 914?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif) If so we're in the same boat, I have a 80' Z28... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Is it possible to get, a Right side bent to fit the Left side ?
I have no need for all the handbrake cutouts.

I can personally vouch for this kit, as I installed it last year. This is quality stuff and fits in like a glove.

I got to see one of maddog's metal stiffening kits in it's raw, uninstalled form this past weekend at the Tropical Ramble. It looks REALLY nice. A great choice for any V8 guy or someone who is going to track their car.

On a side note, I think maddog has been very respectful in allowing the community to slowly move on after Engman passed, since he was the guy who pioneered this type of kit. In the future if I want ever going to do the stiffening kit, I'd buy from maddog since he's still producing them. Thanks for being patient with us maddog!

I have one of Maddogs inner long stiffening kits and the quality is first rate. Now, I just have to find the time to get it installed along with a couple other weld in repairs so I can finally get my car painted. I'm probably going to add some more of Maddogs chasis stiffening items before paint too. The front sway bar reinforcement and the rear chasis kit. I'm really excited about it all as I believe it everything will be finished within a couple of months.
