So I've got an opportunity to pick up 4 used (approx 5k miles) Yokohama AVS Intermediates (205/50-15) from one of the local 914 guys.
I asked him what he wants for them and his response was "Make me an offer". So I have no idea how much to offer. I don't want to insult him, I also don't want to grossly over pay (nor do I want to drive an hour to look at these tires without some idea). Did a search for comparables and found this listing over on the pelican forum for a pair of 16" ones for $40 ... so would $80 for all 4 be a reasonable offer ... seems kinda low to me, but again I have no idea? EDIT: After a second look, those tires have almost twice the miles and the listing is from 2005 so maybe thats a bad example. A bit more research and I found out the tires he's got are ES100s, not Intermediates ... so I just bought them from him for half what the Tire Rack had new ones listed for ... $190 ... so I'm happy. |
