I'm going to be in Calgary this weekend, as I had posted before, but it doesn't seem likely that I'll have time to meet any other club members for drinks.

I was wondering if there are any good parts places in Calgary. Specifically, I'm looking for new fuel and vaccum lines, or anything else that might be useful or interesting. Are there any shops that I should check out? Any good places for metric fuel lines, etc? Where do you guys get your parts?

Thanks,

Try stopping by concept1 while you are here. I bought some vaccum line from them. They deal in lots of type 1 and water cooled vw. Website has the address etc. Concept1.ca. I get most of my parts from pelican or these guys. It's no better here than there for parts I would think. Hope there is snow left for you. We had a record high of 26 yesterday.

Hey,
Welcome to Calgary!
There aren't very many parts places here for 914 stuff. Concept1 has alot of stuff for VW's, but I am not sure about Porsche.
Oh yeah, record high of +26, the next day it snowed!!! the weather here is F@#KED!!
I bought my fuel lines from my friend @ sears auto. I think they are goodyear or something.

Hey F4i,
Are you from Calgary?
If so, what color car do you have?
I have seen a few cars around this last week, maybe one was you.
Later,
Dave

Yep Im in calgary but you didn't see my car. It's been on jack stands for a few years now. I am determined to have it on the road by mid May. What color is yours? All I see around here is orange ones. Mine is factory chrome yellow.

Mine hasn't been outof the garage in two years.
I am getting the paint prep done now and I will paint it in a couple of weeks.
Only other thing is to buy new tires and it will be done!
Regards,
Dave

Welcome! You will see plenty of boxters, 911's and 944's but it will only on a very special day that you will see a 914, 924 or 928. Even more rare would be a 356 sighting. In my 7 years here I have only seen 2 914's on the road. One was a 3.2 conversion (that is for sale) and the other was electric (saw it last month in my neighborhood). I have seen a yellow 914 in the back yard of a house near me. I have even knocked on the door to chat up the owner but they weren't home. I haven't been back to try again. I'm a member of the Wild Rose PCA and I don't think there are many members who have 914's.

There was a white one in the SW of Calgary last year. It was there for 3 days, then I drove the rest of the way home. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I was driving from the liquor store and saw a 996 911 Twin turbo. Almost ran into a curb cause I was gawking. I love Calgary.

In the summer you will see Ferrari 360's, 355's and Testarossa's. There are even a few Lamborghini's around. There are also a lot of 911's and it is not a big deal to see a 996 twin turbo as they show up far more often than a 914. There are fewer 993 twin turbos though. The only ones of those I have seen were either at a dealership or owned by one of the guys in the local Porsche club.
