So I'd like to find a LARGE poster of a 914 to "accessorize" my bedroom. A large poster, print.. whatever.

I could always take a pic of another 914club member's car.... but then I'd feel like a dork (Kinda like hanging a pic of some other guy's wife in your house)

Or.. I could blow up a pic of my own car.. but then I'd feel arrogant.

Any contacts online where I can buy a large print of a 914?? Something worthy of hanging in my home with a nice frame?

Matt

I think there's an ad on eBay for pictures of a girl that's willing to pose with 914s. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

On a serious note... Wall Werks makes nice prints. Pam had a custom watercolor done for me for Christmas a couple of years ago. Maybe she can chime in with some contact info. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I think there are actually a couple of artists on the BBS. (Insert gasps here!) Dave and Rich both do some nice stuff.

Hope this helps,

We have a large format printer here that is capable of photographic output up to 44" x 96".

In the past I have printed 44" canvas and other large prints for clients.

Let me know what you have in mind.

Consider that you need a massive file to print that large, something on the order of 500MB => 1GB.

Lesser resolution will still look good but will be "soft" up close.

That's so cool. Can you quote me a price on that particular print? I'd like one for framing, probably 11x13 or something to that effect.

Wow.... I just checked e-bay.. I really like that larger LeMans poster.. but 50 bucks, plus 10 shipping? Not to mention thats after only 1 bid.. little steep for a poster I think.... I'll save that for the collectors.

However........ synthesis..... a HUGE print of the blueprints would be AWESOME! Did you say you had the capability to print something that big? If so.. how much... I'll paypal you on the spot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

How big and what kind of paper or canvas did you have in mind?

In 44" rolls I only have canvas (expensive).

In 24" rolls I have nice heavy photo paper in glossy and semi-matte, canvas, and adhesive vinyl (giant stickers).

That LeMans poster, if original, will go for hundreds of dollars.

I bought some repro posters from autotrend.com like the one below. Excellent packaging and shipping.

No..... I'd definately want to go as large as possible.

This is going to be a huge piece for a wall. I'm assuming that anything over 24" is going to be the same price because it has to be on canvas?? If so.. the bigger the better.

Expensive is relative..... How much for the biggie?? LOL

For reprints of original factory posters (including the 914 LeMans poster), check www.parc.de
They are the only printer authorized by the factory to make reprints (so that is where all the other postershops get them)
They've got an online shop and ship internationally

cheers,

Jeroen

I just looked... (search their site for "porsche 914" - duh!)
The LeMans poster (19x27") is $12 (ex shipping)

They also have the 86 hours Nurburgring poster
(IMG:http://www.parc.de/v4/pictures/porsche/p6963.jpg)

cheers,

I have printed that one out only in black and white and am currently working at cleaning up the whole drawing. I am having troubles reading the title block but when I get to that, I may be asking for some help or I'll just make by best guess.

The original blueprint is metric and is/was larger than 36"X24". My cleaned up version will be totally scalable as I'm doing it in CAD. When done, I may post it, but I thought it would be cool on my wall so I have my first one up on the wall (I just printed the PDF file). I think it is close to 34"X22".

I started redrafting the blueprint at a previous job. I used the Pelican Parts image as a raster and scalled it up fullsize. Tedious, but easy work. When I got laid off, I wasn't allowed back into my computer to retrieve my personal stuff. I was very PO'd.

Can I possably get an email of the drawing?

I have a 36" x 48" copy of that blue print.
Send me an e-mail and I will take a photo of the title block and whatever else you need to make your drawing accurate.
