Since I have to go to a birthday party in an hour, I missed the G&R again. However, I did get a few minutes this morning to myself and was able to install the new rings on my pistons.

I plan to put the barrels on tonight and maybe even the heads... woo hoo!!

The question of the day is: The guy that built the motor that I am redoing the top end on, used blue RTV at the base of the cylinders where they meet the case.

Should I do the same? There are a lot of pros and cons, so I am looking for input.

There is a shim on each cylinder

Oh - what's the torque spec on the head nuts? Is there a good pattern to follow when tightening?

TIA.
