Buy a 120 MPH speedo with the silver center so it matches the rest of your gauges. Your kidding yourself if you think you need a 150 speedo...LOL

It's possible... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Don't forget Geoff's got the "super-streamlined" '75-76 style bumpers that I know you all secretly desire. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

No way, the 914-6 tach has the red area centered at 6400. I
don't know what that thing is. Not that I would keep this in my
mind, but I don't remember ever seeing the redline there on
any 914's. The 4-cyl was somewhere a bit lower.

Im more interested in the combo gauge. out of a 9eleben right? what senders did you use... I want to custom make one so the oil pressure and the fuel level are there together. are the gauge units intercahngable? in a /4 have no use for oil level...i think my tach has a 6k red line in it...prett sure...ill go check. yup. i though that was stock. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) about the gauge question....here is another:
did a 912E (same motor as a 914 right?) use 911 gauges (oil pressure/Oil temp, Oil level/fuel level)? i f so, are the 912E senders different ffrom a 911?

Brad, you are right! No 914 came with this tach! It is from a 69 912. Ha, fooled you guys.
The combo gauge is from a 70 911 and I bought a oil temp sender to match. I did have the oil pressure gauge working too but the VDO gas gauge quit so I slapped the stock unit back in. (after runnning out of gas twice).

I think I still have the silver button 120 MPH speedo that was in my 73. I replaced it with a silver button 150. If anyone wants to buy it I'll put the bucks to the Korijo fund.
bruce
P.s I'd better see if it's still in the good shape it was in when I took it out before I offer it:rolleyes:

QUOTE(acox914 @ Apr 8 2003, 10:19 AM)
what does "druck" mean? pressure?

yepp, correct:

Druck = Pressure

Temp(eratur) = Temperature

OEL (or correctly ÖL) = Oil

VDO = Vereinigte DEUTA-OTA, created in 1929 by the fusion of OTA Apparate GmbH and DEUTA (Deutsche Tachometerwerke GmbH)

UPM (Umdrehungen per Minute) = RPM

brad's almost right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

GmbH = Gemeinschaft mit beschränkter Haftung

means limited liability corporation, more like LLC rather than Inc. i guess ...
