Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. I recently stumbled accross what appears to be a very solid 1975 914 with a bad engine for a little more than what replacement body panels will cost for my car. My 74 D-Jet is pretty much ready to go. Would there be any problems popping my engine into the clean body (other than removing the smog equipment)? Thanks in advance.

None. Assuming you are moving the entire engine and exhaust to the car. No smog inspections in your state I take it?

Thanks ConeDodger. There are emissions tests...but I think older vehicles are exempt...good point though, will check on the year.

The EBay auction blew at the end (as usual) and the tub went for $2,025...Looks like I am fixing mine.
