Hi all...took my TPS off and cleaned the circuit board and now I'm having trouble adjusting it. I can't get the probes to stay put while I turn the switch and watch the meter at the same time. Any advice for a rookie???
BTW...cleaning the TPS made no difference. Unless of course it's not adjusted correctly.
Car is a 74 2.0 liter.
Cheers,
Mike

I have an extra injector connector with short wires. I plug this into the 17 & 12 (or what ever the common and idle numbers are) and I use aligator clips to attach my ohm meter to the injector connector. This works well since the injector connector is just the right size and the two pins on the tps are next to each other.

I just plug the leads beside the wire on the back side of the plug.

The injector connector is a great idea...thanks.
I'll see if I can scrounge one up somewhere....

vsq914...not sure I follow. Are you just pushing the probes into the connector to make contact with the pins?
Am I missing something? I tried this but the probes won't stay put.

Try my personal instruction sheet for adjusting the 2.0 switch.

Note:
1.7 and 1.8 use a different instruction sheet and it can be seen there too.

Yup...I have that page printed and laying on my kitchen table.
I need to make some sort of connector to make it easier to connect the meter probes while adjusting.
