Hi all,

I'm gauging interest in making 914/6 style steering column shrouds to give your six conversion a much more authentic look. It eliminates the key cylinder section, so you'll obviously also have to install a 911 style key hole in the dash.

I had one made for Papa Smurf (race car), and just had one made for Huey (street car). With Papa Smurf, we even filled the notches for the turn and wiper stalks since they are no longer on the car (last picture). I also installed a push button starter, so no need to install the left hand key switch.

For Huey, i'm going to install the left hand key switch.

Cost is about $150 each, and I would need you to send me your shroud. We have a couple extra so we can make them in advance of you sending yours.

Basically, I'm trying to find out if this is worth pursuing or not?

comments?
