The Host hotel is Laquinta in White City.
Thursday night meet & greet.

Friday Looks like Brittain is willing to head up the AutoX setup. Although there isn't alot of that. It is more the logistic side of making sure we know there rules & follow them. BBQ lunch provided

Saturday Show & shine to start the day. Then drive up to Crater Lake with a lunch somewhere in Route. Possibly have the show & shine that night (If not Saturday morning). Catered dinner & awards

Sunday Is pretty much our standard SEE YAH (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) . There will be an optional drive to the coast. Everyone is welcome to head that way then break off. Or just head home as they want.

Okay well this is the first of many posts for next years WCR Ramble. I do plan to make this the best overal WCR to date (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Is $500 to piggyback? Or is $500 to rent the track outright?

That's pretty good.

I'm busy today, and maybe tomorrow... but I'll put some thought into this. One thing is that I will do due diligence to ensure that we don't run into date conflicts, not just with other 914 events, but anything big that may cause a conflict.

Jamie, What do we need regarding insurance? Since my wife is a insurance agent she could help us get a price. She just needs to know the specifics.

We are talking about the track at the sports park in White City correct? Heres a link to one of the clubs that use the track.

Yes that is the track. As far as insurance I don't know yet. The SCCA guy can get the info for me. Not sure if it is through a standard company or if it is a specialized deal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . I know he said it cost $175 for an event for insurance.

Damn that sounds like a good price if in fact that is the price.

Here's a video of the Kart club on the track.

SICK! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I like the way you handled the date question. Too many opinions will bite you in the ass, but it's obvious you knew that already.

If you happen to go by the track. We need to try to secure a date for next year. Problem is they don't do the schedule until the beginning of 2011. At least that is when the SCCA guy meets with go kart guys to schedule the year. To do something different we need to hit up the gokart guys as they lease the track.

Be cheapest to add onto the SCCA guys. That way we can just pay a portion with the rent & insurance. Plus they usually only run saturday/sunday. So we would be able to get the friday.

If it's only $500 + $175 to rent the track outright, let's just get it ourselves. We can even do it as a 'gift' from WCR2010. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

The less complicated the coordination is, the better. If you have to try and coordinate with the SCCA guys, it's going to bite you in the ass because of the inevitable delays, miscommunications, etc.

Nice! Good to hear there was a fair amount left over afterwords. I like a perpetual WCR fund (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . I was thinking the same on the track. A big part about trying to do it with the SCCA guys was having the equipment needed to do an AutoX. All the cones & timing equipment.

Ask in the Garage to see if one of out electrically inclined members would be willing/able to build a timer. I bet someone can make something great.

I think I will put one in the Paddock to see if one of our many AutoXer's may have access to the equipment. Who knows the track may even have a standard setup that is included?

Do you mind if I ask? It would be cool to have a 914World owned timer, even if it's kinda ghetto. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hey everyone,
I have volunteered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) to sort out the HQ hotel.
Does anyone know how many rooms were booked for the deal in Tahoe?
Just so I have an idea.
I am thinking more along the lines of a resort type. Maybe has camping, cabins and rooms. With a big group area and fire pit hopefully. Might be tricky but I've got a few places in mind. How far away from the track would be acceptable? an hour?

We didn't even bother with trying to get a group rate. We just picked a place and said, "Go here". I can't look at the database to see how many people showed up, but it was something close to 50 people.

I wasn't thinking of a group rate so much as a place both big enough and small enough.
I'll figure on about 30 rooms...?
I'll also select a back up place close enough for those that wait till the last minute to book.
I have a friend who lives in Medford area and he is helping me sort it out.
