A few questions that I've been asked:

QUOTE
I am just reading this thread and am interested in getting in on the group buy but have no experience with RC cars. What else is needed to build a car? Will I need to purchase wheels and chassis in addition?

yes. The group buy is for the body, it comes without paint. The decals are optional. ($32 for a body with decals, and $19 without)

The chassis is the Tamiya M04L chassis. The majority of the people that have, or are building the cars are going with the VW Beetle chassis. towerhobbies has a ready to run version, and there are a bunch of unassembled kits on eBay.

the ready to run version comes complete with radio, and is full assembled. If you choose this version, your options are to run the VW bug wheels (they don't look right on the 914), or to purchase other wheels. There are many styles available, but I'm making options out of Billet aluminum that include the 5 lug Fuchs, cookie cutters, and 4 lug Fuchs. The 5 lug Fuchs will ship with the bodies, the cookie cutters are still in development, and the 4 lug Fuchs are on deck.

The unassembled version comes in a kit that will need put together, It will also need a radio, servo, and has the same scenario with the wheels.

Paypal sent for one body w/ stickers, one body without & one set of wheels. Please delay shipping as I'd like to discuss other options (build, paint).

Thanks, Walt

Walt,

payment received. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I will certainly hang onto them.

Are there any last requests? Anyone else? I'm waiting one more day, just long enough for the weekend to be over. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That'll take me a couple of months of drawing and figuring out clamping angles and such for the parts. I will have to think about it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh, and yes! I got your paypal. I was out celebrating my wife's birthday with her and her parents. We took a cruise up Shell Canyon. (google it, you'd really like the collection of curves on highway 14!)
I must have lost my internet connection while trying to send your confirmation PM.

Yes sir, I did!

update. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Now would be the time to PM me with any specific requests for shipping; or requests for paint jobs, etc.

simple paint job that includes body color and black bumpers: $25.

I am also just about done with the last of my emblem orders, and will get wheels rolling soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (pun intended)
