Anyone know where to get engine dress-up items for the 914? None of the regular VW suppliers seem to have any.

There are very few dress up item for the t4. Which is a good thing, as all the chrome crap you can get for the T1 really is oil leaking crap.

Most of the stuff we can get for the T4 is go fast stuff, not dress up. Look up aircooled.net and the typefourstore.com. It may not be chrome, and will be more expensive then JC Whitney - but its not chinese and won't drip vital fluids all over the road.

Plus intake runners.
Clean and paint the engine compartment.
Replace old hoses.

You can dress the engine up a lot just by cleaning and painting. It's one thing to have flashy parts. But, what's the use if everything around those parts are dirty and look like crap? I went to a fifties car show that gets together every Friday evening yestarday. You see guys all the time put various amounts of chrome and braided stainless steel fuel lines but they neglect to clean the engine compartment. If they'll take short cuts there, you have to wonder what else they take short cuts on.
