It's all realative. It looks better than my first 914, which I bought at age 22 for $1,000 and then drove for 40,000 miles only spending about $500 total on it after the sale (that includes tires). Sold it for $3,000 after the $100 paint job. I loved that car and it wasn't much better off than this one. It just needs a little TLC.

This 914 is some 17yr old's dream project. Add correct wheels and a paint job and suddenly everyone would be saying "cool".

ps - I think the driving/fog lights look great. So great in fact, I think I...

Cuz that's close to where wassers put their alternators- on the top. It should be more to the left in that pic.

It's also a 3 banger (look at dizzy) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

There is no hose between the airbox and the throttle. The throttle must lie under the trunk floor somewhere. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

God knows where they put the 33 rubber hoses needed to cool that thang.
That was VW's only experiment with no cooling passages in the block and running all the cooling lines and passages as pipes and hoses around the block. Yessir, mount the thermostat on the bulkhead sumplace. Run four hoses to it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Must be prototype car number 5 with the experimental rear flares (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif)

yupp, it has a 1.9L Wasserboxer in it.
the conversion was done back in 88.
the engine runs. car hasn't been on the road since 94.
it was someones project car and he died and the car was sitting in a barn an now it has to go ...

it just looks dirty from sitting in the barn.
the ad says it had rust repairs done and there's a bunch of extra stuff that comes with it

current bid is 200 Euro and there's NO reserve (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
shipping would be a bitch tho.

hmmm, maybe jeroen wants this one. it looks like a better "base" than his car.

Hey!

I love my 2.1L wasserboxer!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Its got so much torque that if I'm stopped and forget to rev up the motor before letting out on the clutch, the engine doesn't seem to care or even notice, it just starts my 3400lb Vanagon moving (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Low powerband tho- 2-4k plateau.
