Hi all,

I'm in the process of converting my 327 Renegade 1976 to LS Series power. Presently the chassis is factory stock. I'd like to find a capable shop to: at a minimum, install an inner long kit (Engman), and a GT kit. As for the GT kit I want someone that is capable of opening it up and installing on the inside. If anyone can suggest a capable shop I'd appreciate it? With 400+ horsepower going in, do I need to go beyond my plans? If I must add a cage I want a very minimal clean install as this will be street driven regularly.

McMark - Original Customs can do that as well. Mark is located just a little to the Northeast of Sonoma Square.

Long kit, Select GT reinforcement kit, Reinforced suspension ear, and your pretty much set.

This will be a street car w/ occasional track days on street tires?

Well, for some of us who still have jobs this economy is just fine. I wouldn't want to try to sell my house right now but other than that - no problem. My wife now, that is a different story. She just told me she made $338.00 last week. She worked 12 - 15 hours a day - 7 days a week for that. She is an independent insurance broker. Just quick math in my head puts that at less than $3.60 an hour. She is better off at McDonalds...

Walt, You really dont need much if your just going to street drive it and drag it... All I would do is the long kit and reinforce the suspension ear, and even that is optional.

I have the long kit in my car and its solid as a rock, however the rest of the car is solid as well which makes a big difference. The other thing i would do is seam weld the rear. McMark can easily do all these things and your probably going to come out fairly cheap.

Good luck! I have ~400lbs of tq, and I dont feel the chassis as being a problem here, very solid.

since the transaxle bolts directly to the engine, there is no torsional load applied to the chassis. it does not twist like a mustang, camaro, vette...(front eng, rear drive cars)
