What is the difference between 914 and VW bus axles.
Ok, here it comes. Length : 914 515mm and Bus 475mm Lenght of the splined part : 914 25mm and Bus 29mm The diameter of the splined part and the number of the splines are same. |

And this is how I mated 914 axle and VW Bus /911 CV joint.
Not very recommended way to do it. The diameter of the machined section is smallest in the axle. So, the machined axle is at least in theory weaker than original. |
