Audis, Porsches & Pugs, Oh My !

Figured I start this thread a little early this year.

Right now, you can order Tickets @ 2009 Prices - go to www.roadatlanta.com/ev_petit_tix.lasso

I made my Hotel Reservation this morning, a lot of hotels are already sold out. Got a place for $60 Wed & Thurs, $70 for Friday.

I also reserved my Golf Cart - these run $75 -$85 a Day ( 3 day min) depending on the type of cart you get. I get one every year. Anyone that has ever been to Road Atlanta knows that you can't really walk from one end of the track to the other because of the hills. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I will give you the info.

Also got my PorschePlatz parking pass, they are $25.

So far;

Mark, The Hotel(?) I got for cheap is America's Best Value Inn In Gainesville, GA. Certainly not fancy, but I just want a bed a sleep in and a Shower, since I will be at the track most of the time

Pretty sure The Hilton Garden Inn still has rooms left @ $175 a night - 770-532-3396

Please join me in pleading "No Rain, No Rain, No Rain"

This is a GREAT Race. 07 was Fantastic, 08 there was No Gas to be found anywhere near Atlanta, 09 the Race was stopped & called because of Rain.

I Love the 12 Hours of Sebring, but Petit is Special.

Join Us for a Good Time.

Just cause my name says 911 dosen't mean I'm a wine and cheeser.

I've been trying to get the 911 taken off, or changed to 914 maybe...

I'd rather have absinthe and sausage! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) Hope my 914 is up by then...

I'll be there. Takes me an hour with traffic. Anyone who doesn't want to rent a room should consider sleeping in their car- the showers there are normally pretty nice. Hot, that is. Cleanliness is another issue.

Since I will be working for Skip Barber and promoting another company, I need to get away from the track to decompress, eat well, sleep well, squeeze out a loaf in peace, and take a long shower.

Sebring is a whole nuther thing, even then Skip Barber gives me a room if I want it.

Thanks TC! All booked and ust what I needed. The last couple of years I have stayed down around Norcross @ a red roof inn. Its 40 min. from the track. This is much better.

Like I said, nothing fancy, but cheap. It will be filled up with people going to the race. Cool cars usually in the parking lot, the parking slots are pretty narrow. Lots of restaurants up & down the street. What day are you getting there?, my son won't be there til Friday afternoon.

I'll obvously be there organizing the Porscheplatz corral.

If you're bringing your Porsche, make sure you get at Porscheplatz parking pass. Call the track, you save on infield parking AND get one of the best spots to watch the race. We're trying to break our record of 500 registrants for at the corral.

We'll have free water and soda, possibly snacks, big TV, big tent to get out of the SUN WE ARE HAVING THIS YEAR.... and people from PCNA, PMNA, Porsche AG, a few drivers (working on Timo, Roman, Patrick, Jorg, Andy, etc), Michelin, and who knows who else to speak on Friday.

We have sign ups for track tour that will happen around noonish on Friday.

We're working on having a show version of the GT3 R-Hybrid in the corral (not the one that will be racing FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NORTH AMERICA!!)

As of yesterday, there are 49 cars registered for the race. They are expecting 50+.

for tickets, go here: http://www.roadatlanta.com/ev_petit_tix.lasso
Call the number that says Car Corral tickets: 800-849-7223 or 770-967-6143

Any suggestions about getting together?

We tried in the past, but we didn't pull it off. I think we tried before the race, but I know I was down on the Grid, ( one of the Great things about ALMS - real easy to mingle with the Drivers, Crews & Cars)

I'm thinking during the race in the early afternoon - maybe we could gather at Jake's Motorhome ( with his permission), then it would be just 914 guys having some beer and talking about Rust (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The week before the race, I will pm everyone on the list my Cell#
