They probably made their version go on the passenger side and up the wheel well because that's how the 911 is (their area of primary expertise).
I do like that idea, but for that price they would have to include the cooler and ALL of the oil lines (from tank to engine cooler, breather, etc). BTW - Looks like my 2.7 build will have more parts involved (not as good a core as I'd hoped) so maybe I'll have to do the front cooler route for the hotter engine. |

Does anyone produce these hard brass lines besides Elephant Racing? Is Eric still at it? If anyone has a set or knows of a new set please PM me.

Don't think so, you, me and a couple of others bump the thread but I can't even figure out who has a set to make patterns from
I was hoping they may find their way to McMark, MB911 etc. Maybe Merick in EMEA I'm definitely in for a set |

I still think these would be very easy for me to make if I had samples.

Been super busy lately and have been meaning to add to the thread, but time has got away from me. It was me that snagged the lines off eBay, for on the face of it a decent price (sorry folks if I nabbed them off you) but you may have dodged a bullet and only time will tell
Ben PMd me at the weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) along with I'm guessing a bunch of other members, to gauge interest, the bottom line is that I'm still 99 percent sure I'd be a buyer Was super stoked initially about the eBay purchase and seller went out of his way crating them up so cannot really complain......but not quite the real thing and will need work before they would even begin to fit I fear as the shape is not right. They have been clearly fashioned off the real thing but, I think due to the issues of working with the material and / skill of fabricator they are not a perfect facsimile & in particular the top line where it goes over the jack point is not right Lines are not brass but plated CDS and would, at a minimum need more shaping / good clean before I would hook them up in an oil system. I was figuring on a strip back to clean steel, then re-plate, possibly with brass etc (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . Cost of mod, would I am guessing go a long way towards proper brass lines Check out Andy's lines in his thread against the eBay ones and you will see what I mean http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...1062&st=400 Ben, I would happily ship them but I honestly think we could end up with a poor Xerox copy of a copy of a copy (plus it's going to be expensive....to ship / customs and whatnot). We would also need a car with the holes cut in the longs / jack point mod to figure out how far off these lines really are Ultimately not sure if shipping these to you would actually help verses making from scratch / off known good photos if that makes sense? Ben really needs to borrow a brass set stateside to get this off the ground on a firm footing and there in lies the issue. No one has a set, or would appear not willing to lend Two steps forward and one back I fear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) , not that I'm superstitious but that has to be yin and yang in action
When you say the other lines, T line and the short stubby L? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

So a couple of updates. Was able to get the brass lines off to the manufacturer. Looks like steel or Brass is the same price.. Will probably go brass. The major hold up is the fire's in California are not allowing the employees to get to the manufacturer so things slowed.. Still making progress.
