Hi guys

Thought you might like to see some in-car from my latest rally. This time it was a tarmac affair with lost of twisty turny stuff, which was a great leveler against the much more powerful cars in my class. Even managed to get a 3rd in class (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

For those that don't know.. the car has a 2litre Type 4 in.

Enjoy

Hey moggy,

I'm a long time road racer here in southern California and in some of the video, the driving was really BUGGIN' me: tentative, lugging through corners and in the wrong gear coming off corners, generally SLOW. What the Heck?

Then I realized that the video camera could see much better than a human eye and that the issue was LOW LIGHT! Once there was enough light to SEE, the driver REALLY GOT AFTER IT and went impressively quickly....enough to make me hold my breath a couple times!! Great job! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy,
Terry

Fantastic! Seeing in-car shots always gets me contemplating rally racing, I think I would love it.

How about some pictures of the outside of the car too?

Sure, here's a few from last years season. Can't wait for this year to start as it's the first season we're going to have a proper gearbox in the car, close ratio and a Modena LSD. I think it's gonna make a big difference when we're usually scrabbling for grip in the dirt.

Trailing arms are strong as an Ox (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Believe me... if I can't bend 'em no-one can, great product Eric.

Andrew's getting on fine in his 914. Did rather well in his last rally I believe. Last time I went up to see him he was showing me his very nice 911 rallycar he's building.

Just for you Eric (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Still the maddest engine I've ever heard, gotta love that supercharger whine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Luv it, but I'm going to have to take it out soon and put a sensible engine back in it after 10 years of fun. Gonna give the car I've had since I was 16 to my son when he's old enough and there's no WAY he's going to have a +200hp beast as his first car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Something sensible like a 2056cc should be enough to get him started I think.

Don't tell anyone Eric...... but neither the rallycar or the bug are tha maddest set of wheels I own. I'll see if I can dig out some piccys of the most fun I've ever had in a car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Great stuff Moggy!
How's the powerplant treating you? I hope it has lived up to expectations. I was very pleased with the unique head combo I came up with for that rally engine.

Heads and powerplant are great, am very impressed how there's so much power coming out of such a small engine and over such a wide range - good work Len and Jake (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Very nice! Now I'm on the edge of my seat if these are the slackers in the stable. Can't wait to see the maddest of the bunch.

Thanks Moggy! Glad it worked out! The port combo was designed to pull good down in the mid-range and that usually makes for a good all-around engine when the cam is matched, as yours is.

You must have a good state of tune on it!

Look forward to more videos and updates!
