Well, I've completed all my winter projects. I have bolted the engine lid back on the car. It was off all winter. It's off the jack stands and back on all fours. It starts with the first turn of the key and no longer drips oil. I wrapped up all the stuff Sunday night. By monday morning there was 3 inchs of new snow on the ground. That's not the worst part. The snow is just about gone. The worst part was there was a fresh dumping of salt on the roads, so now even though the temperatures are predicted to be in the upper 50's in the next couple of days, we still need about 4-5 good solid days of rain before it's driving season. What will really suck is if it warms up to the 70's with clear blue skys before the salt gets washed away. It would be like being in the desert with an Ice cold drink in your hand that you can't drink. END OF RANT (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hanged.gif)

I just read that southeastern Michigan has the largest Iraqi population outside of Iraq.

Why do all the middleast people flock to your area ?? I know why they are in our area (where in our area) Lots of H1B visa people here have now left.

Mark & Curvie. Have you ever lived anywhere else?
I know, if there's family involved it's hard to go elsewhere and, even if it's only beautiful 75% of the time winter is easy to put up with. Whilst in North Dakota for 6 years, I swear, winter was 6 mos. of the time! I felt the same way. So I moved back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Brad, I don't know why there is such a high arab population here, I only know that it is so. There are even billboards off the expressway in arabic (kinda disturbing since we don't know what they say- hopefully not a call for jihad). Bruce, I lived in Denver for a few years and loved it, but this is where my family is. I would like to relocate someday to somewhere where the winters are milder/shorter and nearer to the ocean (boater).

This year winter came very early and is leaving very very late. I can usually drive till the end of November and start back up the first of April. Like you say it is beautiful 75% of the time here and winter is usually easy to put up with, it's just this year it's working out to be 50-50.

Family would be the number #1 reason not to move. But really it's a good life here, it's just this winter that sucks. I stayed in Florida for a couple of months, it was OK but most definitely not home.

For us Canadians bitching about the weather is a national pastime. In a couple of months I'll be whining about it being too hot!

Chris, my late wife was from there. I was out of a job ans the inlaws said c'mon back here ... the railroad is hiring. Well, they weren't so I ended up working in a charcoal briquetting plant for a year... left for a year then (like an idiot) went back for another job to work on the oil wells... lasted a week on the wells (danger-danger Will Smith) and landed a job working for the city of Dickenson. That lasted 5 years (winters) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Got so sick of the asshole boss and the below zero winters we packed up and left in January while it was 10 below. Kept getting warmer the farther west we went (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Jason, I bought the car in CA and drove it home last Nov. Went through AZ on the way. Stopped in Twin Forks for the night. It was nice to be driving in Nov. with the top off. Craig, How about a deal in Dec, Jan, or Feb? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I jst wash the car when I come home...
I love the way it handles in the snow, I miss having the rear end go out from under me...

My advice is just drive and wash...
These cars are made to drive, no carress...
