Hi all,
A post on the bird board got me thinking about compiling a list of "out of car"
factory engines and that we might be able to help some of these engines find their way back to the original chassis.
So,here is the place to post those 640/641 engine serial numbers out floating around. I think serial number and last whereabout should be good.If you have an engine for sale, post in the f/s section and I will copy it to the list or you can add it.
Thanks,
John

P.s.Thanks to Pat G. for the sticky

OK, I will add this to your list, I just purchased engine case 6414103 and will keep it unless/until I find my original engine, 6414135.

It is a very clean case and I feel fortunate to have bought it for a fair price from Henry Schmidt at Supertec Performance in Fallbrook, CA. At least I now have a period correct case that is only 32 numbers off of my original case. Probably doesn't mean anything to anyone but me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

should be a 901/36 engine - very early Euro 914-6 engine for a shifter

possibly belongs to a car between 914.0.43.0015 - .0045 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

All,

I am new to the 914 World forum. I am a long time 914-6 enthusiast! I own 914-6 chassis #9140432353. It is missing its original engine and gearbox. The original motor number was 6405532. Porsche doesn't have the original gearbox number recorded. I would be interested in finding the original motor. Any help or leads would be appreciated! On the gearbox, if anyone would know around what gearbox number I should be looking for it would also be appreciated.

Thank You!

6405100 is actually sitting in my garage in Charlotte, NC, not New Hampshire as listed.

And it's for sale, just not listed yet...
