I'm too cheap to buy a new stand, so I spent 4 hours today modifiing my cheap china bug mount.
I had everything and the mount was given to me so my total investmeny so far is $0. OK I lied the gas and mig wire must of cost me a couple of bucks. Mike Galloway gave me the 1/4" plate cut with the proper radius, was given the cheapo mount by another guy few years ago, the small pipe is 3/4" gas pipe and the heavy tube my brother gave me 20+ years ago. Sorry about the crappy welds. my little mig welder needs a new liner and I only have a cheap handheld eye shield as I busted my helmet. Hey I said I was cheap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Tomorrow I'll do some work on the homemade stand I have. Attached image(s) |

My buddy said the original center tube would be just fine, but I was a little nervous about hanging a heavy SC engine out on. I went with something thicker, I thing it's the right decision.
I cheap...not stupid (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Attached image(s) |
