I stumbled across this Truck on "BringaTrailer.com" and a forum search here on 914world shows it has been broached before.. but it's just too cool to not post.

Tempo (Vidal & Sohn Tempo-Werke GmbH) Matador

Check out the driveline, it's front-wheel drive, but they kept the engine/transaxle in the same orientation as VW:
