Sorry this might need to be in OT but I think all 914 minds think alike and we like to see engines blown up, especially boosted ones. This is a 400+ hp turbo Yamaha
Apex engine from a snowmobile. Notice the aluminum BB's in #4 exhasut port. That can't be good. Cylinder head off and the two exhaust valve heads are sitting on the piston. It says alot for J&E pistons, I can't believe they didn't go thur the top. The Carrillo rod is probably destroyed along with the crankshaft. The piston is about 3mm short of TDC. This guy spent about $10,000 dollars on this motor. It lasted about 600 miles on the snow. Cause of failure was the wastegate (Tial) broke and the sled over boosted to about 30 psi and floated the valves and it was all bad from there. Enjoy. |

I have been building and riding these things for twenty years and those boosted 4-strokes scare the crap out of me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
