If there weren't enough good things coming from this event, thanks to PeeGreen914, it looks as there will be a couple new products for 914s showing up on the market.

The guy's got an amazing, and completely random mind. If this works, we'll all be in a better place in a few months...

I'll check my little tool bag, don't think I have any extra's though.

Post Tranny Clinic update:

Tuesday I got my 914 back on the ground for the initial drive. After a little shifter adjustment, everything was 100%.

New shifter bushings
New clutch
New X 4th and flipped H 5th
Tranny didn't need any parts, so it was a simple re-seal and swap out the gears.

Gotta say, I love the new X and H gears. Very well spaced for the 2.0 engine and I have no problem pulling 5th even from 55mph on slight grades (We're basically at sea level). I drove it around Tuesday for a while and again today to work. Loving the taller gears. I can really stretch the 914 legs now without sounding like I'm going to grenade the engine.

edit: the little glass pack I welded into the Bursch system made a big difference. No more anoying raspy sounds and the whole tail pipe note is much quieter now. That combined with the lower freeway rpm's and the whole driving on long trips should be much, much more enjoyable.

I took a month for the smell of gear oil to go away from my shop last year.
Another month for the smell of Mike to clear out.

I am afraid that at the end of the trip, it was not my flatus, but my emesis that will be remembered by the poor folks riding with me to the airport.....and those on the freeway near by.

I got sick on something, could have been the booze and 60+ raw oysters the night before, and on the way to the airport I proceeded to paint the side of Mark's dads truck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) Beef and asparagus all down the side (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) I still feel like I have a bit of appendicitis.

The event was spectacular and could not have happened if not for the generosity of Mike (6freak) and the support of his wife Ronna who kept us all well taken care of. Nice place, nicer folks. I think poor Mike didnt know what he was in for (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The vacation part was also an absolute win thanks to the aforementioned folks and Mark and Jen, Stu and Linda (let us use there smaller truck as our vehicle), Ann and Ray at the beach house, and Jakeodoule for the recommendation to stay at McMinemin's Edgefield in Portland.

Noel and I are very serious about planning on relocating to the PNW when we are able in a few years. We fell in love with the place (and the weather was deceptively nice) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

There was some real talent at the clinic, too. Many picked up the lessons and went on to need only my QA with no adjustments at the end. I am very proud of that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I am still recovering from this event...I hope to be better by the next one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
