1. Am trying to finish off 1970....have an aftermarket, tinted windshield. It is basically new, but obviously not OEM.
Car will NOT be concours (at least not when I look at some of the contenders out here), but should be very decent, so would like to get as close to OEM as reasonably possible. Was/is Sigla the only OEM windshield, at least for that year? IF so, is there anyone out there that would sell (and ship) a good, clean Sigla. Note, my shipping address is BLAINE WA. If the glass was in that State, I can pick it up if you are not in a rush to get rid of it. One of the members has a good, clean Solex.....how close to OEM would that be.... 2. Other question. Will need new carpet. Would like to get as close to OEM as possible, but can't afford about $2500 for OEM from AA, just not in the cards. Can anyone tell me WHAT product out there is closest and who has it....What are views re "the next best" from AA, or other vendors... OR better yet. Does anyone HAVE "the next best thing to OEM" 3.Last question I finally noticed when taking inventory, that one of the door glasses is tinted, the other NOT....can anyone tell me if 1970 had option of tint...and if so....does anyone have vent and door glass in tint THanks |

I've got both side windows of a 71 tinted and a tinted quarter glass. I'm not sure what year the quarter glass is out of or if it makes a difference. PM me if interested.

I am going to see if I get this reply correct. I am hunting about for carpet for a 1970 914-6. Turns out, that is important re choice. AA tells me that the 1970 6 version is unique...in that it had perlon, like front and rear trunks, unlike the 1970 -74 914s AND the 71-72 6s, which had loop. Looks like I'm going with Perlon I have a new set from Appearance and Performance full set in grey/black loop..it is not OEM.. my bro in law has it in his 70..looks great!
