It seems to be one of those shops that you either swear by, or swear at (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I've heard good and bad, it depends on how your luck is and what your tolerance level is.

I've only had minimal experience with PMS, but it's been a good experience so far. Jim Patrick has been very helpful in answering questions and the few parts I purchased were of good quality and shipped promptly.

Good luck with your project!

I've bought several items from them and had only good experience. It can be tough to speak directly with Jim but when I did I got the info and parts I needed. They followed through on promises for a part they had to build before shipping and I made my track event.

The parts that they supply seem to be first rate. However, I would check here first before purchasing a particular part. As always, this group will mostly provide specific, candid feedback. You will also get some unsubstantiated bashing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

I know of a couple of people that have had very good experiences dealing with them.

Patrick's prices are high and his attitude sucks. I've purchased parts from them. Then I asked him for info on one of his cars. His only response was "What are you going to buy?" What a dickmunch!

Jim has always been straight with me. *Some* of his parts are VERY nice.. some leave a little on the table. He does great work (most of us do if you pay us).

I ordered from them about 5 years ago while constructing my 1974 3.6L conversion.

Jim and one of his techs spent a goodly amount of phone-time with me during the project and helped a lot. Spending money does buy you that, naturally. I made a lot of my own parts as well since I like to make my own stuff but Jim's gear works well.

The help was appreciated since there weren't very many of us 3.6L folk back then and nobody was writing anything about those specific conversions. Especially Jim, who was making at least some of his living doing them.

I only had a problem with a cracked (later redesigned) motor mount at Memphis Motorsports Park. That, and a mis-wired harness were the only issues during a year or so of various and sundry part orders.

I was dissapointed that he didn't replace the engine bar sight-unseen but to be fair, he offered to look at it if I would send it back. I had an event that weekend and didn't have time to do it but I welded a larger fillet-web onto the piece and it has been fine ever since. The only casualties were the forward shifter rod, which was bent downward at the firewall by the 993 engine hammering it and the firewall bushing. The shift coupler was OK... don't ask me how.

Plain and simple if I do my homework and learn from everyone, then stop engineering and build the thing it always works and I tune it later... but only if it's needed.

Good Luck,
Ron

Yup...too many nice guys out there to have to buy from Attitude R US....I'd be Adolf Hitler's prison bitch before I bought anything from them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)
