I like the carpeted backpad look too. I have driven for 2+ hrs @ 80-90mph up to Leicester with no back pad or floor mats. It IS noisy and I used ear plugs. Lots of superbike riders use them too because of the wind noise

Gint,

I think Scott (?) with the white Martini paint scheme car has posted photos of his interior in the past. He did a nice carpet job on the rear firewall. Might be in the archives.

Mine isn't great, but it was affordable. The Rubber floor mats don't look to bad either, but I need to remove them after I get caught in the rain. Now I need to get CFR to weld on some new fenders.

Mats, and "custom" carpet. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I would leave it in a street car. Lose it on a dedicated track/ax car.

or, a street car with a roll-cage (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Just in the process of fitting the carpet. We used the center section of the back pad because it could be notched to fit the diagonal member of the roll bar. The center section between the seats would be the place most likely to conduct the sound, IMHO. (Don Kravig notched the firewall for the diagonal when he built the bar so the center section would fit and I could get the seats to go back far enough to clear my equator). The exterior of the firewall was stripped and painted when the weld-in mount went in... didn't feel that I needed the 14 pounds of rubber as a source of potential rust. I can't hear the radio anyway with that six-hole howl going on right behind my ear! Pictures to follow, when I can figure out how to get them posted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)
