Need some help here. This is an original 914-6 motor that has been rebuilt and fresh. I understand there are stock and heavy duty chain tensioners. Don't know what I have here. I am looking to install blocks rather than pressure fed tensioners. Part number for the drivers side is 901.705.519.00. Passengers side is 801.105.518.02. They are very hard to read so this may be wrong. Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.

Pressure fed's are not out of the quetion here. I understand they can fail also so I'm just looking to do the right thing seeing as now is the time to do it with the engine out of the car. Opinions so far have been about 50/50 regarding pressure fed to using stops from the people I have talked to. Thanks for your input.

I don't think I'd run a 911 motor without pressure fed tensioners. It was one of the first things we got for my 2.7.

Looks stock, but what do I know...I've got pressure-fed tensiners. I suppose you could get a pair of these (IMG:http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/images/engine/hydrastop.jpg) but...

When I built my motor in not only added pressure fed tens, but also the later chain wheel supports.
These have a wider bore (at the pivot) and a bronze bushing. Binding at the support shaft is believed to be one of the causes of tensioner failure, thus the "new improved" part. I also bought new aluminum chain housings (ouch!! ...from the dealer).....am I paranoid or whut?
