You got that one right! Apparently, the filler like stuff inside the tail light area was disturbed by the sandblaster and some of it fell out. This allowed rusting to start underneath. The paint that Brandon put on bubbled up twice before he discovered what the problem was. He treated everything underneath with Rust-Mort, welded and body worked in a patch, and repainted everything. Now it looks great - just like the left side. No bubbles this time. You can't tell there was ever a problem there.

I've got some digital pictures at home of this area after the final repair. I'll repost them on my own thread tomorrow.

Thanks for picking it up Mike!

Now if I could just get some pictures. I just PM'd Mark a few minutes ago asking for pics.

You're welcome! Your tub looked very nice all clean and primed. I just went through this whole thread today for the first time. Our cars had similar problems. My rust didn't get to the longitudinal though. My right rear suspension mounting had been rusted away and badly repaired. So it had to have major surgery in that area. I also had some damage to the left front nose area.

Once I figure out how to post pictures here I'll start my own restoration thread. I've taken digital pictures of the whole restoration so far.

Your guess is as good as mine. I have PM'd and generally nagged Mark to death for pics and still haven't seen any. I'll have to call Brad tomorrow at the shop.

I have to live vicariously through people like Doug. I hope to be following in his footsteps sooner or later.

In the meantime, pics of my dipped tub would be nice.

Haven't been on in a while. Thought I'd log on and see how the acid dip came out on Gint's car but still no pics. Is it me or is 2 months a long time to post pics from something everyone wants to see? Did the car dissolve or something?

Here's a teaser... I have to go man the shovel for a couple of hours. I'll post the remaining pics later tonight.

Well, as far as repairing and painting the tub is concerned, I'm just writing the checks.
