Anyone ever had a coil leak?
for the past 2 months car has run flawlessly, except for the clutch cable adjustment that had to be made last week, but 2 days ago, suddenly car started to miss, run really rough on the way home from work- was running fine in a.m. and leaving work, so i stop in parking lot at the hardware store. seemed to be electrical, nothing obvious, but that night i figure either points or coil?? had a 69 austin healy that would act the same way, had a bad coil, - i pull the coil and it is sloshing- half empty of the insulating oil, apparently cracked and had been leaking out!! this coil was only 1 year old but NOT a bosch. Anyone ever heard of a coil doing that? put in a bosch coil- seems to run fine now! wierd! |
