Oddly enough, I seem to have an early main harness and a late ignition harness. There's an empty space for the green wire in spot #11 of the main harness and no sign of any wires to connect to the heater motor coming out of the main harness. Could have been the PO that switched ignition harnesses,or me during one of the numerous engine switches. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Since I know the green jumper is what gets intermittent power from the relay (depending on whether the heater lever is pulled up and "grounded"), I'll just tap into it (the green jumper) and run a new wire to the blower motor. The jumper may have been in the wrong hole in the pic b/c it keeps falling out due to the jostling of these tests. Good catch - but since I don't have an early main harness the jumper isn't needed anyway, unless I wanted to have the new blower motor wire run from the front of the relay board instead of the rear. The problem I originally started "trying" to fix wasn't the problem at all since, in the end, I won't even need a ground wire since the motor is grounded itself through the bracket which is mounted to the engine. b/c it keeps falling out due to the jostling of these tests. Do you have the plastic caps for the connectors? If not, those pins will come out the first street bump you hit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) You betchya: So happy to have these electrical band aids properly fixed and correctly running off of relays! This board continues to amaze me - I remember when the Bird Board was the place for info - 8yrs ago I thought it was the bees knees. My we've come a long way... Thanks all!
