I need a 4 wheel alignment next week for my 914...any recommendations for a shop in/near the San Jose area? Or how far do I have to go to find the right shop?

Jeff, call Mark at Ken's Sportech (408) 377-8055 and if he can't do it he'll probably be able to direct you to another shop.

Jeff,
I've used Custom Alignment (somewhere in MV) with decent success. (my car's haven't been driven enough recently to require alignment.... sigh) (btw: "Hi Carl!") kim. |

Jeff,
Didn't find any in SJ for four wheel alignment. For 914's, Brad recommended and I went to: Roger Kraus Tire Inc Work:(510) 582-5031 2896 Grove Way Castro Valley, CA cost $150 A closer one (he said they seem to dislike aligning 914's. Custom Alignment Work:650-961-5311 2599 Wyandotte St Mountain View, CA Let me know if you find someone closer. Also, bring extra shims just in case. Felix |

Brad's sending my car to be alligned sometime this week. I'll ask him tomorrow where it's at. I recall him telling me "it's just down the street" [from hph]
Maybe we can get a better deal if we bring in both cars together! Yeah, right. <_< Jen |

Jeff;
Custom Alignment in Mt View is very good. I was recommended to them about ten years ago. The recommendation came froma very reputable 914 shop. They have done four of my freinds 914's, 4 wheel laser hightech alignment, they have the specs to set it to stock, or anything else (and they know what specs for modified cars should be also) I have purchsed high quality (ie low and sticky) tires from them, they also did my 61 bug, and my Vanagon (never drove better). My 914 was all tweeked from me lowereing it, and they dialed it in, and gave me a before and after print out of the specs. I usally see some pretty hot cars in there. The people are real good, have a very clean but busy shop, lots of the latest equipment, and they know what they are doing on 914's I highly recommend them. dave |

Jeff,
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif). Custom Alignment did my 914 work too and I was (and continue to be) very impressed. Sandy |
