Darn it Andy, ever since reading your post this morning that's been driving me nuts! Kind of like losing something and "just knowing" that the next place you look you will find it!

My guess is that it's a plug that seals off fog light mounting holes on cars that don't have fog lights installed.

I hope someone guesses before I'm forced to take off my front bumper!

QUOTE(Lawrence @ May 31 2004, 02:41 AM)
The key phrase is "on the road". Tells me it's either an alignment piece (literally on the road without drifting off) or safety related item (Germans are nuts about safety).

My gut instinct tells me it's one of those rubber pieces that holds the headlight assemblies in place. Or... maybe the elusive German flux capacitor.

nope on both (altough i would like to own a flux-capacitor!) ...

To review, it keeps the 914 on the road, it is on the body, the picture is the visible portion of the object, Jenny does not need it anymore and it is just smaller than a quater. Is that correct?

correct ...

#1. The rubber plug that holds the trim piece on the headlight assembly. Believe it is referred to as an "eyebrow". 3 per side.

or

An alien part left over from "Superbeetles" as they were assembled in the same factory and the assembler had gone to lunch and had a few to may biers and got confused (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

or

Something you dug out of your tool box that you can't identify (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

nope, nope & nope ...
